Lucerne and Mt. Pilatus, Mt. Rigi or Mt. Titlis

DAY 01 GENEVA/ZURICH - LUCERNE

You arrive at Lucerne by train in 2nd class from the Swiss airport or border. You can stay overnight in Lucerne.

DAY02 LUCERNE

The journey to Mount Pilatus (2132m/7000ft) is really remarkable. From Lucerne you take a boat and go to Alpnachstad. This is followed by a journey in a cogwheel train that is the steepest in the world. This train takes you to Mount Pilatus.

When you come back from Mount Pilatus you can take the cable car or gondola and come down to Kriens. You can take a bus from there and come back to Lucerne. Normally these buses operate approximately from mid May to mid October.

There are excursions to Mount Rigi. You can also take a boat cruise form Lucerne and go to Vitznau. Afterwards you can board the cogwheel train, which goes to Rigi Kulm, which is 1800 meters or 6000 feet long.

Mount Rigi does not have any traffic and offers a splendid opportunity of having fun. It is a well known recreation resort. It covers almost 90 square kilometers of breathtaking landscape. It has viewing points that are marked specially and give lovely and panoramic views.

There is also an excursion to Mount Titlis, which is at 3020 meters or10,000 feet long. You can take a train from Lucerne and visit Engelberg, which is a major mountain monastery village. AT Engelberg you can take a gondola and go on a trip to Trübsee.

You have the option of continuing your trip. You can take another gondola and go to Stand. This is followed by the original revolving Titlis Rotair cable car. This cable car takes you to Mount Titlis. If you want to get a stupendous view of a glacier you can go to the glacier cave and take a ride on the Ice Flyer chairlift.

DAY 03 LUCERNE – GENEVA/ZURICH

You can go back to the Swiss border or airport. You may even stay in Switzerland if you want to.
